The meeting was co-chaired by the Head of Department for Coordination of International Economic Aid in the Sector for Financial Planning and Coordination of the International Economic Aid, Mr Zoran Danilovic and Head of Development Cooperation in the Embassy of Sweden,Ms Eva Gibson Smedberg.
At todays’ DCF meeting, Ms Smedberg presented the overview of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation (GPEDC) which primarily represents the multistake platform for driving effectiveness of all types of sustainable development. The Platform includes governments, bilateral and multilateral organizations, civil society, private sector as well as representatives of trade associations and parliaments in joint effort to increase the development partnerships. Global Partnership convenes stakeholders around 4 internationally agreed effectiveness principles - Country ownership, Focus on results, Inclusive partnerships and transparency as well as Mutual accountability. Global Partnership is helping countries to analyze their SDGs progress by bringing partners together in principle-led approach and fostering trust and by generating data for evidence-based approach. The mission of effective cooperation in which multiple partners are engaged catalyse the sustainable development for all, while country-level Global partnership monitoring exercise for efficient development cooperation catalyze the progress on SDGs for the people, planet and prosperity.
At the Tour de table, development partners and representatives of international organizations and financial institutions in BiH as well as domestic institutions were invited to share the information on the new and planned projects, exchange the opinions on their current and future activities, positive experiences as well as challenges they are facing.
